The Essex Youth Center is being closed.....It is a great place for kids to meet and hang out! this is the only thing in town for the teens of Essex so if you all could help by signing our petition. it would be greatly appreciated! Our teens thank you from the bottom of their hearts!!

this place was were i used to get food in high school when i had little money. my husband and i also spent lots of time playing games when we were younger here
The EYC has a long tradition in the community and provides a safe place enjoyed by the young people of Essex. To say that it is unimportant and not a priority represents a shortsighted view. Would the Mayor rather people just hang out on street corners?
This is one of the best places Essex has to offer, especially for kids and young adults. If you ever needed help, you could find all the support you could ever need there. Losing the youth center would change Essex drastically as well as the behaviour of these teens.
My son was a member of this youth center for most of his high school life and he enjoyed going to the conventions, fundraising and help others when they needed it. I truly believe it helps many kids that might not want to play a sport a place to be with friends that have something in common.
The EYC was a huge part of my high school experience. Without it I would have not made as many friends, socialized outside of class or even exercised. Closing the EYC would be a terrible thing for many high school kids, as it's a place they can call their own and be whoever they want to be.
I love EYC
Please keep this place open it is the only thing we got to do in Essex for us teens and we love it at this place we get to meet new people, no bullying here, and everyone here is amazing people
