If the East Windsor Town Budget does not pass on Tuesday, 6/14/16 then an automatic 2% increase over last year's budget will occur. If that happens, the Board of Finance will be meeting on Wednesday, 6/15/16 to decide how to allocate the additional money. The East Windsor Youth Center has proven that it is needed by 81 different kids coming, most several times, since we opened our doors on October 20th. Our monthly expenses for rent, insurance, electricity, heat, internet, phone, and food is $1200. It is very difficult to raise that through fundraising so we would be very thankful if the Town was able to start helping us financially as we are currently at risk to close due to lack of funds. Signing this peitition shows your support for the East Windsor Youth Center as being something our community needs (a safe, substance-free place for our middle school and high school youth to relax) and your desire that should the 2% increase occur, some of the money get targeted to the EWYC since our 10,000 line item was completely pulled out.

The response to this campaign has been heavier than I anticipated and it is exhausting to keep up with the pace. It is clear I am not the only one who sees the value in this place for our kids. We are worn thin but this level of backing keeps us moving forward.

The East Windsor Youth Center positively impacts many young lives in this community. Having a safe, nurturing place to go is something many children in this town need. I believe supporting the next generation is an extremely important part of a healthy community. Keep the EWYC open!
The kids need a safe place to hang out and socialize. There was nothing like this in town when I was growing up and I would have loved to have a place to go outside of school functions and activities.
We fought to get this open, and we'll fight to keep it open. We need your support, a handful if us cannot do this alone. Thank you!
I am a volunteer at this youth center. I've witnesed first hand the need for a safe place to land after school for these children. Please consider the allocation of funds for the East Windsor Youth Center.
Finally something positive for our youths in town. We need to keep this open. Why can't the superintendent take a cut, and donate to the youth center?
