Kwadukuza Municipality finally surrendered and committed to fixing the emergency access at Willards Beach. They ignored us for years but our pressure forced them to take responsibility for the mess they created. We won this fight and now we hold them to every single repair they promised.

For more than a decade since the Willards Beach LifeGuard Tower was rebuilt. The access for both vehicles and pedestrians has been dysfunctional at the Willards Beach lifeguard’s tower.
Despite many attempts to highlight this access issue with Kwadukuza Municipality over the years. Nothing has been done. KDM are not even willing to acknowledge this critical issue that affects our whole community.
This means that when there is a need to get any access to Willards Beach. KDM use Surfers Lane, and in the process over the years continue to damage the infrastructure that is there.
This has been done without once returning to rehabilitate what they have damaged. Leaving the Ballito community to fit the bill to clean up and rebuild what KDM destroys.
This will continue to happen unless KDM firstly acknowledge that there is an access issue at Willards Beach designated emergency access.
And Secondly commit to addressing the issue.

The massive surge of support proves that the entire community is fed up with the Kwadukuza Municipality dodging accountability for the destruction of Surfers Lane. KDM can no longer pretend this disaster does not exist. We are turning this momentum directly against their incompetence.

Surfers Lane used to have a beautiful deck and lawns where residents could go and sit and enjoy the sunsets. Destroyed by KDM and not willing to do the right thing yet again
This will.cause huge damage and I doubt would ever be restored S.the area is already maintained by locals and not the municipality.
I have no idea how Willards Beach acquired Blue Flag Status without adequate emergency vehicle access to the beach. Willards Beach could be a world class beach facility. KDM needs to step out the way so Ballito can take care of business. KDM have been holding back our community for far too long. This access issue is just the tip of the iceberg of KDM inability to manage and care for our community.
No access and damage to fragile dune at Surfers Lane. Proper access needs to be created at Willard’s Beach. Current Lifeguard tower encroaches proper beach access for maintenance. Bad design.
Please KDM, we can’t disappoint our ratepayers and our business owners, shops, restaurants will be affected as well. We won’t get holiday makers, save our beaches from destruction.
Surfers lane..... think of the economic benifits of the Balitto Pro! Piss off surfers and the chances are the highlight on the circuit will be tarnished
