Stober Elementary School, located in Lakewood, CO and part of the Jefferson County School District, is on the list of five elementary schools within the district to be closed down by the 2017/18 school year. Although Stober has faced this type of threat in the past, a severe budget crisis for the district along with the failure of recent bond/mill initiatives means that the situation is even more critical. Stober is a small, community-based school with engaged parents, innovative teachers and staff, diverse students, and high academic performance. Stober is a model of what elementary schools can achieve, despite limited district investment and consistent threats of closure. Please help keep this thriving school off the chopping block by showing your support.

Stober was the springboard which elevated my child into the Lakewood IB program. I feel it's closing would be detrimental to the neighborhood and current students as well as future generations.

As Vice President of Wheat Ridge PTSA, the Stober Elementary School at its community are a vital part of our articulation area. The bleeding of Wheat Ridge must stop. Please honor the academic performance of this school and its high utilization.

With the financial difficulties Jeffco Schools are facing, closing schools appears to be an viable option; HOWEVER, closing a high performing school with a waiting list and supportive community is counterproductive.

It is unfortunate such a strong school is on the chopping block. This is a strong community with growing enrollment and a younger and younger demographic as houses are selling to families with young kids, or families prior to having kids, further increasing the enrollment in future years. Keep Stober open!

To close what is clearly a community asset and high performance school while maintaining a failing school which is situated on property that is clearly suited for multiplex housing development makes me question the decision makers, not the decision itself.

With all my heart I hope stober stays open since we transferred in from our neighborhood school which was deteriorating and we finally found a place that my daughter can thrive and feel secure and safe in a loving and supportive environment.

My friend Charla sent her kids to the school and she said it was a good environment and a provided a better learning experience than most other schools.
