In 2016, ABC Unified decided to withdraw from their partnership with the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District (NMLUSD) and thus pulled it’s funding of Southeast ROP. As a result, the Southeast Academy High School program is at risk of being reorganized and possibly relocated. The program, which is proven successful with a 100% graduation rate, prepares cadets to become “college eligible, college prepared, and career ready” productive members of our communities.

In order to continue and build on our existing achievements as an academic community, we must be allowed to remain intact, operating on our own campus and under the leadership of our current Director, MSgt Schafer (USMC Retired), MSgt Allard, and Staff Sgt Cervantes.
Please sign below to show your support in requiring the NLMUSD Board take immediate action to preserve the program!

My grand daughter Rylee Morales is a student at Southeast Academy. She is very interested in going into the military after graduation. I am a Vietnam veteran and spent 6 years in the USMC. I am very proud of my granddaughter and would like to see her graduate from Southeast Academy.

My daughter Helana graduated with honors with this amazing school! Two of my nephews Raul and Robert Davalos were MAJOR contributors while they attended and also graduated with high honors. They both served and serving in the United States Air Force!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AMAZING SCHOOL AWAY!!

I personally went to this school, and it's meant to be different than other high schools and it's been proven to be different. There are special bonds that are made here and we don't only become friends, we become a family and no matter what, this will always remain as my home

A school like this provides an effective learning enviroment free of the social issues and distractions that plague our public schools today. There's a focus on academics, team work, discipline, and structure that can only benefit our children, now and in their future.

Both my children graduated from Norwalk High School and they had friends that attended Southeast Academy. Every single one of those kids graduated and this school changed their lives!! Bad move ABC Unified. NMLUSD, please do whatever you need to do in order keep this school open for the kids.

Southeast has provided incredible programs for our students, especially those who are tactile and visual learners. Our students have been successful in completing their programs and have ALL been employed upon completion.
