• Any student interested in Officer’s Academy requires four years of Junior ROTC • The Junior ROTC program at Mission High School has been in place for over twenty years • Mission High School’s Junior ROTC program has been recognized in the “Portal to Texas History” • The Junior ROTC program proudly participates in Veteran-affiliated events and has earned hundreds of community service hours • The Mission High School Junior ROTC program earned “Honor Unit with Distinction” in the school year of 2011-2012, a high achievement obtained by only 10% of Junior ROTC programs • The Junior ROTC program awards scholarships to graduating seniors • Statistically shown to reduce drop-out rates in High School students • Educates students on character, creates a community awareness, and develops a civic engagement • Statistically proven to help improve academic scores in at-risk students We the undersigned would like to bring your attention to this issue.

I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with the district administration to discuss the program status. My focus is now on preparing the documentation regarding our historical performance metrics to present during that session.

Mission High JROTC has built many srtong City of Mission citizens and community leaders..The value of the opportunity JROTC gives to young people is immeasureable. Keep the program!

My son is in this program and its the best thing he has done in high school. Dont take this away from the kids who really need it.

These kids work harder than anyone else at that school. It teaches them real discipline and respect. Why would you cut this??

Mission High needs this. Too many kids will fall behind without the structure it provides. Do the right thing.

JROTC kept my brother on track when he was struggling. He actually wants to go to school now. Save the program please!!!!
