To the Honourable the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, in Legislature Assembled:
The petition of the undersigned, parents of the students in School District 69, states that:
Whereas, schools are the heart of our community;
Whereas, the closure of schools will lead towards the decline of our community; and
Whereas, the closure of schools will inevitably lead to increased travel time for our children.
Therefore, we the undersigned, oppose the closure of any schools in School District 69.
Your petitioners respectfully request that the Honourable House take such action as may be necessary to prevent any school closures.

Please do not close QBES, its in the heart of the town and so many parents keep the local economy going after they drop their children off at school. The children will end up missing out on so many activities that are readily available to them right now. Please don't close our schools.

Keep school open or qualicum will suffer
The community will change completely if kids can't go to school in the town they live. Families will move and the economy will suffer.
Save our Schools and leave them open and move Head office and VIU CAMPUS located at parksville civic and technology centre to a highshool for the kids to have extra credit towards College... !!!!

Fingers crossed to the school staying open! Having such an amazing "small" school in the community was a highlight for moving here. Keeping kids out of "town" and out of a larger school matters to their learning and safety. There are too many positive reasons for NOT closing the smaller schools...
