The city has officially renewed our outdoor cafe permits. We will remain vigilant regarding local zoning discussions to ensure these spaces are protected moving forward.

City Crab and Dukes have been serving our neighborhood for 20 years and now a few people in 1 building on our block aren't happy that we offer outside seating for our guests. They want to take our café permits away because they don't believe people should eat outdoors.

We need your help to save outdoor dining, not just for us, but for all our neighbors - both residential and commercial.

Please sign this petition to save outdoor dining in NYC and two businesses that have grown their roots in the Gramercy, Flatiron and Union Square Neighborhoods for years. We appreciate your support.

We are approaching five hundred signatures and need to reach this threshold before my meeting with the local community board members next week. I am currently preparing the formal briefing packet that includes the names of all signatories to verify the scale of local backing for these permits.

It is reasonable to limit noisy outdoor seating after 11PM, but not before. This is NY!!! We don't get much air here, and a cafe is certainly not any noisier than a normal street! Please give us our outdoor space!

Raised on 13th and 11th Streets. Attended Stuyvesant H.S. When it was on 15th St. Have family in the East and West Village, Chelsea and we all agree that eating and sometimes drinking in the Outdoors makes City living more livable.

All major cities around the world have outdoor cafes. In my opinion New York bring in the top three should not limit the ambiance and amount of seating a restaurant is allowed. I think outdoor seating is very inviting and a a way to help sell how nice and good their food is.

Sidewalk dining makes it a friendlier neighborhood. Of course, it would be better if there were potted plants outlining the tables & separating them from pedestrians.

If there's a specific request in the complaints that City Crab can address, that's fine; but to ask to totally disallow the outdoor dining area is absurd and inappropriate. Dining outside is one of the rare pleasures of life in Manhattan, and those who don't enjoy it still need to learn to deal with others doing so.

I believe that City Crab should have the right to have outside seating. The customers are great representatives of the community and are not unruly. Please let them maintain the permit. It is an asset to the community.
