PLEASE ONLY SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU ARE A LAKE SUTHERLAND PROPERTY OWNER.

PROPERTY OWNERS PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK WITH OTHER OWNERS!

Signing this petition is a start but this alone will NOT be enough to save the lake! Only your voice will help save our lake! Please write a letter to our county commissioners OPPOSING any ban!

The Commissioners email addresses are as follows

[email protected]

[email protected]

[email protected]

Our family friendly lake needs your help! A small group of property owners have petitioned the Clallam County Commissioners to ban ballast boats and wake boats on Lake Sutherland. This would be devastating to our lake community as most modern pleasure boats have a ballast system, including but not limited to wake boats and ski boats. People from all walks of life come to enjoy this beautiful lake and all it has to offer. We are gathering signatures to STOP this ban from taking place. A ban on ballast boats would be a slippery slope for all boating and watercraft activities on the lake! Please take a moment to show you OPPOSE a ban by signing this petition. (Property owners only at this time)

Feel free to leave a comment along with your vote, so we know how you feel!

I never thought I would see this much support piling up so quickly and honestly it makes me feel like maybe we can actually stop this total overreach. Please keep pushing these emails to the commissioners because they need to know we are not going anywhere while my coffee is getting cold and I keep refreshing the page just to stare at the screen.

Let's keep the lake as it has been for the last 70 years! The Headricks have been there for 65 year! If you have an issue with a neighbor, have dinner together and work it out! If you are a skier, ski early like it's been for years. If you are an open water swimmer... swim early with a bright flotation device! That is how we have done things for years! We love you, but love us back.

Rowing and paddling is dangerous as winds pick up often and strain the boater. This would endanger boaters lives with no emergency access to rescue services on the lake.

It’s sad that we are at a place where neighbors are using governmental preceding for this issue instead of just talking to each other. In a different time our Lake Sutherland community would’ve been able to handle this locally without escalating to the comissioners office. I keep thinking how all this will be in the back of our head every time we enjoy the lake now.

There are existing regulations in place at Lake Sutherland to address safe boating . We have never ever experienced dock or shoreline damage , from boat waves , to our property .

My wife and her family have been using this lake since the 60’s, our family owns three cabins on the lake, water sports and boating make this an extra special place to be year round.

I have been skiing and jet skiing on Lake Sutherland my whole life! I was devastated when they took the skis off Lake Crescent taking them off Sutherland would be a tragedy for me and my children and many others!

Don't exclude people, don't turn the lake into a private country club, let everyone use it.

If the boats stay out of the no-wake zone, they can't do nearly as much damage in a summer as a single winter storm will. This will not only hinder enjoyment of the lake, it won't solve the problem that the snowbirds are seeing either.
