Our family friendly lake needs your help! A small group of property owners have petitioned the Clallam County Commissioners to ban ballast boats and wake boats on Lake Sutherland. This would be devastating to our lake community as most modern pleasure boats have a ballast system, including but not limited to wake boats and ski boats. People from all walks of life come to enjoy this beautiful lake and all it has to offer. We are gathering signatures to STOP this ban from taking place. A ban on ballast boats would be a slippery slope for all boating and watercraft activities on the lake! Please take a moment to show you OPPOSE a ban by signing this petition.

Rules/laws are already in place. It’s not right to change this now. It’s like changing a CC&R when they were already in place. If you don’t like it, move to a different place with rules to your liking.
As a cabin owner and long time water sports enthusiast on Lake Sutherland , I have never ever seen or experienced dock damage or shore line erosion from boat wakes . There is no reason at all to change the existing regulations in place at Lake Sutherland .
Please don't take the lake from us!!!! Some of my greatest memories are being the "flag girl" IN the boat and riding the tube BEHIND the boat. Please don't take those future memories from my son.
Wakesurfing and water skiing behind ballast boats on Lake Sutherland has been a major part of upbringing on the Olympic Peninsula. It would be tragic to take away one of the major activities on this lake and especially given that a large portion of boats and boat owners on this lake have ballast boats.
This claim is baseless. Children are NOT in danger by these passing boats, your property is not being eroded by these boats and they pose zero risk to me when I am engaged in a water activity!
I am a home owner of a house on the lake. Banning ski boat will diminish the fun and the property value of the community. I am strongly against it.

I have lived and worked on the peninsula most of my life! The local dream is to own property on the lake and have a ski boat to enjoy it! Please do not take this from all the young up and coming families that have given so much to achieve this dream! Thank you
