In 2016 Bolton Council will be building 14 council houses on a field in Kearsley, most commonly known as 'the back field'. The locals of the area strongly object to this! Please help us to let the council know we do not want them to destroy one of very few playing fields in the area!!

Bolton Council have neglected this field for years to make this unusable for the local community! Local residents have even gone out of their way spending thier own hard earned cash to buy a ride on lawnmower to cut parts for the children to play on!!

Bolton Council hang your heads in shame!!!

Updates

The stories you are sharing about growing up on this field are heartbreaking. We are compiling these accounts to present directly to the council members.

The momentum is undeniable now. It proves that this field belongs to the people of Kearsley.

This field is very important to the people of Kearsley and lots of people, including me, have many happy memories of playing on the back field, listening to the football matches going on there at the weekends which I could hear from the house where I grew up and so much more that I could write list as long as my arm. NO TO BUILDING ON THE BACK FIELD IN KEARSLEY. It would be a disgrace to take that away from everyone.

This feld is used by the children in the local area. We have even bought a ride on lawn mower to cut the grass because the council will not cut the grass. Also the local people have took there own time to pick up rubbish and tried to maintain the field. The council have a idea to build 14 new low priced houses for people to rent at affordable prices. Doesnt take a genius what kind of people will be moving into these houses. Our local mp needs to pull there finger out and do something for a change.

I was told a few years ago that bolton council was fighting to save green spaces and was no longer allowing buildings on them. This is a disgrace there will soon be no places for children to play who are already limited to play areas. Why dont our local councillors oppose this new build and spend the money on the upkeep of the land maybe put a park on there and erect goal post. We only see our councillors when they want our vote ..hang your heads in shame.
