The city denied Homegrown the permits so Music on Main is officially safe and I am honestly still reeling from the news. It feels wild that all 252 of us actually pulled this off since I was so worried about the downtown rhythm getting ruined. Let us keep an eye …

We, the undersigned, believe the health and vitality of our city’s Downtown is directly linked to the Downtown West Bend Association’s events, in particular Music on Main, which has been a summer entertainment staple of the city since 2005.

Homegrown has proposed, and are seeking permits, for a series of concerts to be held on the same day and time as Music on Main. Granting these would negatively impact a foundational event of the Downtown West Bend Association and financially jeopardize their entire slate of events such as the Farmers’ Market. Homegrown’s proposal is shortsighted, misguided and un-neighborly. Homegrown should explore other options than direct competition with well-established and popular events.

I really thought this might just be a small neighborhood gripe but the momentum is suddenly wild and I honestly have not even processed it yet. It feels like people actually care about Music on Main as much as I do which is just so validating after weeks of feeling frustrated by these permit talks.

My wife is in a wheelchair and with easy access it is a blessing for us. We love music and this keeps us coming to West Bend for other things as well. Please keep Music on Main.

very well states in the opening, the already established events such as Music on Main, West Bend Farmers Market, which is one of the best in the state, and all other local businesses, should not be put in jeopardy especially when there are other options for Homegrown.

Hoping to see the minimum number of signatures needed and the continuance of Music on Main. It's more than just music. It's about the support and connection of our downtown and wider community. The other organization could double the positive impact by simply selecting another day of the week... or a different community for their events.

Homegrown needs to choose a different day of the week for their events, our community is too small to fully support 2 large similar social events .

I am a new business owner in downtown West Bend. Please help support the livelihood of the small businesses downtown. The DWBA brings not only entertainment for Music on Main, they run an amazing Farmer’s Market and other events that bring many customers to the businesses. While I greatly appreciate music in the park, please look into a different night of the week.

There is absolutely no reason Homegrown has to pick the same night! They are both great events, but Music on Main should not have to be in a position to compete after all these years. Homegrown can certainly find another night so everybody can enjoy both of them. If we're forced to choose, we will go to M.O.M.

Music on Main is a wonderful event that many look forward to every summer. A healthy and active downtown is beneficial for all residents of West Bend.
