PETITION TO SAVE OUR SEARS (SOS)
This petition is in reference to the closing of Metro Center Sears located in Jackson, Mississippi.
We the undersigned, are requesting that Sears Holdings Corporation reconsider this decision.
While we understand the rationale for this decision, we are asking that you consider the impact this closing will have on the metro Jackson Community.
Consequently, this will greatly impact the entire tri-county and other surrounding areas by job loss, convenience and furthermore, availability of quality products.
Therefore, it is our desire that Sears Holdings Corporation will initiate a plan of action that will include considerable downsizing and target marketing measures for the Metro Center Sears in lieu of dissolving it as whole.

I have been spending my evenings reading through the stories you all have shared about what this store means to our families and our daily lives in Jackson. It is clear that this is about so much more than just a retail space for those of us who have relied on it for years. Please keep these messages coming because they are the heart of why I am fighting to keep these doors open.

Seeing this groundswell of support for the Metro Center location feels surreal because I remember when this store was the heart of our community. Your stories about shopping here remind me why I started this fight and the momentum we are building proves that we will not let them walk away without a struggle.

This place has been here my whole life. Jackson is losing everything and it makes me so sad to see it go.
I grew up going to this sears with my grandma. Please try to keep it open somehow.
So many people depend on that store for appliances and tools. Fix the business model dont just quit on us.
Terrible decision. Sears is an icon in this city and you are just flushing jobs down the drain.
Seriously? Where are folks supposed to shop now. You are killing the local economy.
