The school reversed the decision and Maria is staying at PS 111. It has been a long and draining fight but seeing the outcome makes all the sleepless nights worth it. Thank you for staying with me through the uncertainty.

Anyone that has walked through the doors of PS 111 in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, knows that Maria Galimidi is the Blood that flows through our school. She is the person that we all look to for any and everything that we need. Our staff, students and families love Maria. For over 20 years Maria has dedicated her life to our school. She is one of the first people to arrive and one of the last to leave. Maria always goes above and beyond to ensure that our events run smoothly. We can't imagine how we would pull off graduations, parties, fundraisers, without her help. Maria started her PS 111 life as a parent over 30 years ago and has been a member of this community ever since.
There really aren't enough words to explain what she means to our school community. Please help us let the higher ups know that we need Maria to continue being a member of our PS 111 community.

Maria has always been a great caregiver to students of all ages in P.S 111. Maria was and is still very attentive of us In and out of school hours. She is a an essential part of P.S 111 culture and of Hell’s Kitchen. Regardless of how old we get we love you Maria! Thank you for always having our backs!
Maria Galimidi is a stalwart member of the Hell's Kitchen Community and an amazing asset to PS111 and its community Partners. The 52nd Street Project has been working with her for 20 years at PS111. Her knowledge of the school, the community and its needs is invaluable. Please do not abolish her position.
Having grown up within a Spanish speaking household, Maria was vital in keeping my family informed about what went on within the school, and she always ensured we were always up to date with paperwork. She was just as vital to my education as all my teachers were.
Maria is one of the most kind souls I know and she has had such a positive impact on my life since I met her as an 8 year old child. She helped me get my first job, which became a position I held for years until finally heading off to attend law school. She is a bright light that shines within 111.
I’ve known Maria for over twenty years she is a dedicated and exceptional staff member . Always attentive and respectful to me and to others. It will be a great loss if Maria losses her job to the staff and to the community . She is a tremendous asset to P.S 111.
I'm a former 2nd grade teacher at 111.Maria Galamidi was there at the time and was an integral part of the school at that time. She was very pleasant and went above and beyond what was expected of her. I hope she keeps her job. Jane Rosenblum

Through out my years of 111 she has been a huge impact in my life making sure I stick to the books and my sports. Her charismatic energy is what kept us as students in a fun healthy environment. Thank you Maria.
