we actually pulled it off and the council just confirmed the buildings are staying with us. i cant thank you enough for sticking by this and helping save our parish history. now we just have to make sure they keep their word.

It is the communitys understanding that the purpose of the old national school, parish hall & Village Green are for use by the community of Longwood. The community have fundraised, renovated & maintained these buildings over the past 60 years.

The community buildings are vital to sustaining and growing community life in the Longwood. In terms of the Church's responsibilities, I think the truly Christian action would be to give them back to the community.
I am in disbelief at the churches action but in absolute inspired awe over the huge community spirit. I am very proud to live in this village and to show my kids its important to stand up for something you know is wrong.
This is a disgrace, if the parish maintained and fundraised for years for Work to the building the church should not sell it.. it is morally wrong and unchristian of the bishop and his priests. They should be ashamed of themselves as men of the cloth!
My son was going to start Rainbow preschool in September. My other son is going to hip-hop classes in community hall and was going to joint scouts there. There will be no christmas fair. When those buildings are sold what will be left?
This has been our Scout Den for ten years. We currently use this for our beavers, cubs and scouts.

Longwood hall and primary school is part of our history and it was our parents who worked hard to upgrade it when it was needed. Now it is used for preschool children and the hall is used for other things like scouts. Badminton. And other group's. If it's sold Longwood will loose its history along with it spirit and soul. We must save it.
