POROTECT OUR WW2 HERITAGE SITE AS IT IS ANIMPORTANT PART OF OUR HISTORY.

I have taken several classes of children to the LIncolnsfield centre for the WWII experience. The children learn so much and have a fantastic time. Should without doubt be kept.

I've taken our Year 5 children here for the last two years. it is an amzing experience that the children wouldn't normally receive. It would be a waste to remove the buildings and a destruction of not only historic significance but also take away from future generations education.

This cannot be allowed to happen. Absolute lunacy, we need to protect the heritage and integrity of such sites! Lest we forget.

We must keep the site as it is. It was an amazing experience and our children learnt so much.

Our school has had very successful visits to thiscentre, making excellent links to WW2, which I believe wouldn't happen without the buildings. The atmosphere and the volunteers really brought everything to life, particularly the bomb shelter. It might not look significant to planners, but it did to our children. Save the buildings please.

I visited these buildings with my class last year. I have never been on such a truly fantastic trip. The children thoroughly loved it and it was a privilege to share part of history in such a wonderful place and with such wonderful people. Please don't take that away from generations to come.

It would be a disgrace to lose these historic buildings, depriving our children of their wwII heritage.

How are we supposed to remember and teach past events if things like this are allowed to happen. It's a valuable research asset!!!

my grandson visited this year and had an amazing time learning all about what happen during the dark days of WW11 and of course some of the lighter side of things to this would be such a loss for future students if the closure goes ahead.

I am an American and attended Bushey Hall when it was an American high school from 1967-1970. These old buildings bring back a lot of happy memories for me of my days in living in beautiful England. I last saw Bushey Hall in 2000 when many of my fellow school mates had a reunion there!

So important not to demolish buildings like this as people need somewhere to visit to be reminded of the sacrifices people made to win the war. Have visited here at it was very special.

Far too important a place to be lost. Money should be injected into this place and given a high profile. It's part of our history!

An irreplaceable historical resource for young and old alike.

I was lucky enough to attend Bushy residential center back in the 1970 and 80's. It was (and is) a truly inspirational place that brings history to life. As a child seeing history alive and and all around you is far more important than through pictures and on film. Please don't let them demolish this wonderful place and save it for future generations.

I used to play in some of the abandoned buildings at the base in the mid 70s. It was a wonderful mysterious place then with an echo remaining even then of its wartime purpose. Fantastic what has been done there since those days - a real historical site, not a museum, not a theme park, but a real place, where real things happened. The buildings are a priceless connection to a history and a world that we are seemingly all too ready to destroy. For what? A short term gain? A quick profit for an already affluent few. Once upon a time there was another "few". Sites like this one are are a common treasure. Once these things are gone. They will be gone forever. In my childhood road, Bendysh Road, old Mrs Booth and Mrs Shaw would tell us kids about the bomb runs aimed at the base. The new houses (relatively speaking) opposite 17 and 18 Bendysh Road were built on the site of two houses destroyed in the war by bombs. Also, the new house on the corner of Walton Road and Bendysh Road was built on the site of the beautiful rose garden which was there when I grew up. The garden was lain on the site of another lost house. 17 Bendysh Road survived a direct hit from a bomb. It went straight through the roof, landing on a bed in the front bedroom. Fortunately, it didn't go off. The woods in the golf course is full of small craters which we played in - hiding from golfers and groundsmen. History is only alive when we nurture it, remember it and pass it on. We are nothing without it.

Of course I meant 17 and 19 Bendysh Road.

Shame on the council this must be stopped

So educational. A credit to Hertsmere. A tragedy if this history was lost.

I live in Hertsmere and I was a child in the war. I am proud to have these buildings in my Borough.

Please don't let these historic buildings be demolished. It's so important to keep recent history alive and show our younger generations what happened during the war with the fantastic experiences at Lincolnsfield. Everyone who takes part in the activities are so passionate about keeping history alive and I don't know of any other group that have these activities taking part on a regular basis.

We need to maintain our heritage, for future generations. The future is always yet to come, but the past is integral to who we are now. Please save it!

funny how we are always told to "never forget" what happened in the war yet it seems to be getting more and more ridiculous how much of Britain's recent history is allowed to be bulldozed out of existence for the sake of housing the masses in new housing estates and the like.

Valuable assets to remind subsequent generations of the struggle to make UK a free land, not a land of cruel laws and religious domination. There is much to learn from those days. Every person had to play their part in the war effort

We need to conserve our past as so many people have forgotten our heritage. We seem to be so intent on being multicultural and politically correct we have forgotten how much rich history this country has.

This is an important site it should be saved, to much has been destroyed over the past decades, the buildings should be listed.

Why do we consistently keep wiping out very important sites and buildings which are important part of our history, and especially WW2 sites, a lot of people gave their lives to keep us free, Sites like this should be kept and renovated as part of our heritage & as a reminder to all of the sacrifice of others.

I live in Bushey and Watford and my children grew up visiting this place at least three times a year. We must preserve our history and make it accessible for all, to just those who can drive miles to reach an exhibition. WW2 affected everyone in the UK - the scale of civil defences must be seen to be appreciated. It's not something that happened just to London, or just to coventry - it happened on your doorstep. It;s shaped the world you live in today.

This teaches the children what the war was really like. It gives them more understanding doing something, rather than reading or writing about it.

Let's keep the buildings for our children to experience History
