We are strongly opposed to the privatization of our public moorages at Leschi and Lakewood. If the $4MM awarded in 2014 was released, the moorages could be made safe and continue to generate revenue to Parks. Bond financing for the balance of the repairs could be paid with moorage revenues. WE SAY NO TO PRIVATIZATION!

My family has docked at Leschi for decades and watching these historic spaces fall into disrepair feels like losing a piece of our history. I have been spending my mornings at the Parks board meetings to ensure they see our faces and hear our frustration. They are quiet for now but your support proves that our community refuses to let these public waters be sold off.

Seeing this collective push to protect our moorages proves that our community refuses to let these public spaces be sold off. Your support brings real weight to our fight to ensure these docks remain accessible to everyone who relies on them.

As a Lakewood tenement for almost 8 years now, I have seen how little has been done to maintain the marina in almost usable form. With just a bit more to repair/replace some pilings it could be maintained for years to come and still provide a revenue stream to the city. Why give that away?

As an avid boater who pays for moorage in the private slips at Leschi, I can assure you that our docks are in equal need of maintenance and repair. I would prefer to see the funding released to repair the public docks and that they remain owned by the city.

Lakewood produces revenue that parks uses to maintain other facilities.Yet they don't maintain the revenue producer. They increased moorage rates years back for a repair fund they refuse to use.We don't want a subsidy. We want the moorage we pay for to be safe and not left to rot.

No to privatization. Maintain current slip lengths and number by rebuilding on the same footprint in an ecologically sound manner that doesn't alter the current coverage over the lake with larger slips. Utilize current moorage income to repair and rebuild the docks. No fee increases!

If public funds have been set aside for the maintenance of Lakewood Moorage, they should be used for just that. Lake Washington needs continued public access to its shoreline and its facilities, and the suggestion that it be privatized further restricts access to parks that should be open to all in the immediate neighborhood and the wider community of South Seattle.

I have a smaller boat and have had countless amazing days on the lake. I would lose this if you privatize our marina. My brother moors in Edmonds. He was shocked at the condition of our marina this summer. Please release the 4 million so our wonderful marina can be upgraded with much needed repairs.

A 20 to 40 year leasehold agreement with Marina Management LLC is a transfer of park property within the meaning of Citizen's Initiative 42 and is illegal. Stop the madness! Let's Lakewood continue to be the park that it is.
