With only 4 months to go until Heather Music Festival’s 30th anniversary, the brewery has decided to pull the plug on management at The Queen’s Head which puts the future of the pub and the festival in jeopardy! Despite appealing, the brewery has failed to respond to the management and has instead advertised the pub for takeover by new tenants.The hospitality industry is crumbling under the joint pressures of rocketing energy, rent, food bills, staff wages etc amid the ongoing cost of living crisis and the after-effects of Covid and Brexit. Sales have declined nationally but this team have not been given a chance.
The brewery have also done this despite knowing that Rainbows would be the beneficiary for this year’s festival and their decision will have a significant impact upon fundraising.
Shaz, Charlee and the team do so much for the local community - the pub and the village spirit simply wouldn’t be the same without them.
If you want to see Shaz, Charlee and the team stay at The Queen’s, or in the least you would like them to stay and steer the festival this year, in accordance with tradition, then please sign this petition and make your voice heard

Sharon is a great landlady who supports local music and to see her go will be a sad loss to the community as a whole. If this is inevitable, please at least delay it until the Heather Music Festival has passed, as this is a brilliant community event
I have very fond memories of my late dad finally plucking up the courage to swallow his fears and perform at this festival…. It would be a crying shame to see it moved from the pub
This festival is amazing! They take no entry fee, just donations which go to charity! You don't find many festivals like that! It's in the local area and brings so much business to the pub and any food stalls that attend. There's no reason to get rid of it. The music goes off at a decent time, so doesn't disturb residents nearby.
I have attended, played at, and helped out run the stage over the years. The Queen’s is a great venue, and a fantastic pub. Am hoping the traditions can be kept alive. Live music and pubs go hand in hand and should be supported.
Shaz, Charlee and the team put a lot of hours and commitment to the Queens Head. Just putting new tenants in won't change the problems the pub industry is facing after covid .

Shaz and Charlee do so much for our local community and are dearly loved and well thought of - they should be receiving the SUPPORT of the the Brewery during these difficult times, not the opposite. The festival is a long held tradition and it would be a travesty for Shaz and Charlee not to be able to uphold it this year on its 30th anniversary.
