SAVE HASLEMERE'S PUBLIC TOILETS

541 Signatures Goal: 1,000

Haslemere Town Council is very concerned that Waverley Borough Council is intending to close the public toilets in the High St carpark to make way for more parking spaces.

We are currently making representations to WBC to try and keep this well used facility open on behalf of local residents but we need your help. Although we know they are well used and vital to many residents, by signing this petition you give further weight to our argument.

Thank you.

These toilets are well used and it's a mark of a civilised place to provide them. More parking spaces are not needed, although this is only a justification for saving the money a difficult task for the council. If private commercial establishments are to be asked to provide theirs to the general public then they should be compensated by reduced business rates.

Haslemere's loos are a huge benefit to the shops as they encourage shoppers to stop.

This is a public health matter - public lavatories are essential in a modern society for the maintenance of good health of the community
