The Wells Centre is at the heart of life for the Wells Estate Residents of all ages – from the wide variety of services provided for senior citizens who use the Centre to stay active to the families whose children attend pre-school classes and other activities.

Now this fantastic Community resource is under threat from the Residents` Association-run Borough Council. Blaming the need to make savings in their budget, they have entered into public consultation about the future of the Wells Centre and there is a strong chance that they will seek to close it down.

We believe there are plenty of other areas that the Council could save money without closing such a popular and valuable public resource. Councillors should not seek to balance the books by closing a centre that supports the needs of an entire community.

Please sign our petition, make your voice heard and make the Council listen to the needs of its residents for a change!
