we got the news that coach shadowens is coming back. i dont think they were expecting 540 of us to show up like this but we pulled it off. lets keep an eye on things as he gets transitioned back into the program.

By signing this petition, I hereby acknowledge that I am willfully seeking the reinstatement of Philip Shadowens as Blackman High School football coach. Based on actions observed on and off the field, we feel he holds the values and philosophy best suited for our student. There is a very strong consensus that the resignation was not in line with the direction that we want OUR program to go, For that reason, we are seeking a full investigation into the reason for his resignation on February 13th 2015 and complete disclosure of the “Differences in Philosophies” Leisa Justus gave for said action. Please consider this as a formal request made by not only those families of student athletes, and the students and athletes he has coached or mentored, but by those who elected you as their representative and voice.

Philip is first and foremost a good man. He is a fine example for the young men he coaches and should be allowed to continue to build on the relationships he has started at Blackman if this is his choice. His philosophy has always been to put the child before the game.
He's a great coach. He helped me during my years at Smyrna. He has a big heart. Thanks coach for the time and effort you have me. I still use some of the lessons in everyday life 15 years later
He cares about every kid he coaches and he shows them a passion for excellence that is absolutely inspiring. The kids use that passion both on and off the field. He shows them that while it may just be a game it is THEIR game. I believe every kid he has coached is all the better for having him as an influence. Don't take that away from them.
I have stood in a few huddles after games and hear this man say such encouraging words to these students. Not just about football, but about building character as young men.
Phillip Shadowens had coached and mentored my three Boys in a 15 year span. If there was a flaw in his Philosophies i would have long ago noticed. Blackmans lose

Coach Shad is an outstanding man of character and integrity. Although I don't have a son who plays football or a child who attends BHS, Coach Shad coached one of my daughters for AAU basketball. Our entire family supports him and his family! He is one of a kind!
