They actually scrapped the whole plan and honestly I am just sitting here staring at my screen because I still cannot fully believe it. It is honestly wild how things shift when people actually pay attention and push back against those ridiculous traffic ideas. Just stay vigilant because you never …

To Highways Committee:-

DON'T RUIN THE GARDENS & CHAPELFIELD NORTH

We the undersigned object to the plan to remove the pavement on Chapel Field North in order to create a two way traffic system for heavy goods vehicles.

We believe there are other ways to improve bus services that do not involve ruining Chapel field North.

Mostcity residents are completey unaware of the proposed changes and the four week consultation period was too short and driven by funding not genuine public interest.

We strongly request a proper review and new consultattion in line with the Councils' duty to properly engage and involve Norwich citizens in the planning process.

I just blinked and saw the counter hit one hundred signatures which is honestly kind of surreal because I started this sitting at my kitchen table feeling like the only person who cared about those pavements. It makes me feel a lot less like I am shouting into a void and now I really need to figure out how to get the local council to actually look at these names instead of just burying them in some digital folder.

Councils are legally and morally obliged to ensure they consult, engage and feedback to the community on issues affecting their quality of life alongside need for provision of services. There is clearly great failure to do so here so you need to stop, step back and consider how to do this properly as it cannot be undone if it's not the right thing to do to the green space.

I had no idea about this until I saw a sticker in the rear window of a car a couple of hours ago. I Googled it and found this. So much for the public consultation! Ruin somewhere crappy not a nice public area.

City Council please reconsider. It takes no time at all to lay tarmac and concrete, but it takes an awful lot longer to reverse the process.

Keep Norwich a fine city. It is places like Chapel field gardens that enrich the quality of our lives. It's a non quantifiable factor in monetary terms but essential all the same.

Whatever the season Chapelfield Gardens provides us with a beautiful green space for young and old within an urban space. Did you ever walk your child to school through Chapelfield Gradens on a spring morning looking up to St Johns Cathedral. Magic!
