The council just voted to preserve Arlene Cartwright park and keep the facility exactly as it is. Seeing those bulldozers stay away means everything to the neighborhood kids who play there. Thank you for helping me protect the place where my own children learned to love the game.
The town council of gananoque want to tear down Arlene Cartwright park. This is being done to create a soccer pitch, put up tennis courts etc. This can be done without tearing down this beautiful state of the art ball park. Please sign and tell council the tax payer is not in support of this plan. Save this beautiful park for the kids of gananoque.
Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting off my chest because I know how much this park means to our children. I never imagined so many people would care about protecting this space as much as I do. We are proving that this land is worth fighting for.

I spent so many afternoons at this park with my father and seeing it targeted for demolition hits me harder than I can explain. We are nearly at one hundred signatures so please post the link to your social media pages right now to push us over that mark.

I do not agree with the decisions being made. Wish they would take into consideration residents' opionions on things like this. They already made a dumb choice taking the tennis courts out, please leave the baseball diamond. My son plays soccer and we've always seen the diamond being used when we go for soccer night!

We need more baseball fields not less. It also does not make sense to tear down the only one that is fully functional. The one behind town hall gets written off every year by Ribfest, which is at the beginning of the baseball season. We need our baseball assosciation, it is the most affordable kids activity in town.

Haven't seen a review uses of current fields to warrant the need for another soccer field. Would suggest before anything goes forward that reviewing all community needs and based on what is available is completed and disseminated to the community. I believe you will find we have enough blank fields for all soccer needs.

I have 3 generations (myself, my kids and my grandkids) who have all played at this baseball diamond and I want my other grandkids to get that opportunity too and I might even be around to see a 4th generation use it too!!

Please stop wasting taxpayer money in tearing down recreation only to have to rebuild it elsewhere. Find a different spot for your tennis courts and soccer pitch and leave the ball park alone.

Its just wrong in every way and so disrespectful to Arlene who put her heart and soul into doing something good for the town she loves. This makes me ashamed to say I am a native son of Gananoque.
