The greedy developers finally backed down and Whitchurch Tennis Club is officially safe. We forced them to drop their plans because we refused to let them bulldoze our community courts. Stay alert because we will be watching their next move to ensure they never try this garbage again.

The momentum behind this fight is becoming impossible for the Cardiff Council to ignore. They think they can bulldoze our community history but this response proves they are dead wrong.

A superb and very friendly club which is widely used in the community. Just last night there were many young people being coached - in the hope of being another Andy Murray or Heather Watson or just a person who enjoys tennis. It's so important to keep this excellent facility.

An amazingly friendly and welcoming club. In 1995 I was new to Cardiff and did not know how to play tennis. Thanks to the lovely people there, I did learn and now my son helps out too. A family club.

Apart of my family lived in Whitchurch for nearly 80 years. The tennis club is a part of people’s lives. You shouldn’t have the right to take it away, just to make a few quid. Memories, moments shared. They last a lifetime.

WTC is far too valuable an asset to our community to lose. After moving here from overseas, it was a lifeline for our daughter of 11 years of age. Her acquired tennis and social skills remain with her so we very are grateful to this great club. Let’s not give up on Whitchurch’s hidden jewel!

I use to work as a police officer in Whitchurch and this was a great place for youngsters to learn tennis giving them options from your common attraction like football and rugby, taking this away is madnesses

Surely you have sitting tenant rights under the Landlord & Tenants Act?!! Take expert legal advice as my experience is ‘local objections’ will sadly get you nowhere. If the Welsh National Tennis Centre can be closed then so can Whitchurch unless you assert your legal rights!!

Shocked to see this club is under threat. Really hope this can be resolved.
