Fellow Samsung S22 Ultra Users,
We have launched this petition to bring to Samsung’s attention the major screen issues plaguing a large number of Samsung S22 Ultra devices. Since May 2023, numerous users have reported that half of their device's screen exhibits extremely high brightness and washed-out colors.

This problem can be temporarily alleviated by adjusting the screen refresh rate to 60Hz (Settings > Display > Motion smoothness > Standard). Similarly we can enable "Power saving" mode, which toggles the "standard" motion smoothness underlying the hood. All these are merely band-aid solutions, not a fix. The color accuracy is still off and the status bar flickers from time to time.
The timing and patterns of these reported issues point to a possible firmware update or factory defect as the underlying cause. Users noticed this problem following a firmware update in May, suggesting a likely correlation between the update and the screen defect. This suggesting that this isn't an isolated incident or an issue caused by individual user errors.
Similar issues have been seen in S22 Ultra (believed to be another variant) in 2022: https://www.getdroidtips.com/samsung-s22-plus-scre... and also in other models https://tnp.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-u...
In situations where a fault occurs due to a manufacturing or design error, or any actions of the manufacturer (such as firmware update) the manufacturer should be responsible for resolving the issue, even outside of the standard warranty period.
We therefore call upon Samsung Electronics to take immediate and comprehensive action to address this widespread issue. We request that Samsung:
- Recognize this widespread issue as a firmware or hardware defect, not a series of isolated, user-caused problems.
- Provide all affected users with an appropriate resolution, whether through software fixes, replacements, or repairs, at no cost to the consumer, irrespective of the warranty status of the devices.
- Reimburse any user who has independently incurred repair costs due to this defect.
- Improve their quality control procedures to prevent such issues from arising in the future.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for consumer rights and holding corporations like Samsung accountable for this screen issue on S22 Ultra and should bear the fixing costs, regardless the warranty period of the device. Let's ensure that our voices are heard and that we receive the resolution we deserve. Please share this petition with your networks and on your social media platforms to increase its reach and impact.
Please also share this screen issue with the Samsung Official social media page like Facebook, Twitter, and etc of your country/region, to let them aware of this issue and to release a firmware sooner to fix this issue.
Thank you for your support and solidarity in this matter.

I really need everyone to grab a link to this page and drop it in their group chats because we are almost at one hundred signatures and I think that number will actually make someone at corporate look at us instead of just ignoring our flickering screens. It is so frustrating watching these stripes on my display every morning but I really feel like we might finally be gathering enough momentum to get a real response.

I pre-ordered my s22 ultra when it first came out. Got this issue out of sudden after 2 years of using it. Factory resetting the phone does not help at all. Lowering the refresh rate to 60hz is able to band-aid the issue, but shade of yellow is definitely off the chart.
The same issue came on my phone after an update in august and it's there ever since. Visited samsung service centre but they rejected service citing its an international model. Really disappointed with Samsung flagship
I experienced the same problem with my S22 Ultra, mine just happened 26 days after my warranty expired. Considering the price and also it is a flagship phone, it is very frustrating that there is an issue like this! I hope Samsung will hear us!
Samsung is only offering a free LCD screen replacement on a case by case basis. Customers would still have to bear S$54 labour cost, and possibly wait up to 2 weeks for repair, with no replacement phone. Customer Service Team avoided speaking about this batch issue altogether.
My S22 Ultra has a white line in the screen near camera. Didn't fall. It just appeared in today. I'm a regular Samsung customer. I have Samsung TV. Multiple Samsung phone including the S22U, Note and the Tab S8 Ultra. So are you gonna risk losing a customer like me or are you gonna fix this.
I am currently experiencing an issue with my device where a prominent light source on the left side of the camera is hindering its usability. Additionally, when operating at a 60Hz refresh rate, the display's color reproduction appears to be inaccurate.

I have a green line across the screen of my Samsung s22 ultra on 28/05/2024 after an OTA update. It seems, Samsung was providing free screen replacement only till April30th 2024. This means they are accepting it a manufacturer fault. Since my issue showed up after April 30th what am I supposed to do?
