For the past 5 years, as per numerous resident communications, our District 5 reps have been unsuccessful in getting the board to address the increasing traffic and safety concerns of the Safflower Way and Compass Pointe South intersection. Our current representatives will be presenting this concern again to the board at the July, 2024 meeting with data showing that a significant number of the residents in Compass Pointe will be using this intersection, along with a suggested way to make it safer for all. They will present the need for 3-way stop signs. To support this initiative, we are circulating a petition, with the idea that the Board needs to see that the residents who use the intersection need to have something done with it. This will make it safer to cross on foot, with a walker, cane or wheelchair, or to pull out of the intersection in a vehicle. We are sending this to residents in Westlake, Timber Ridge, and North Ridge and need as many signatures as possible. Please share this with any other residents you know who use this intersection.

I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY ENTIRE WEEK TALKING TO THE DISTRICT OFFICE ABOUT THE DANGER AT SAFFLOWER WAY AND COMPASS POINTE!! THEY ARE FINALLY LISTENING BECAUSE OF THE MASSIVE ENERGY YOU ALL ARE BRINGING TO THIS ISSUE!! PREPARE FOR SOME BIG NEWS WHEN WE FINALLY GET THE BOARD TO ACT ON THESE 3-WAY STOPS!!

Speed and lack of sight line from safflower onto compass pointe s Wynd is so dangerous. Drivers pick up speed going down the hill towards the west gate and would find it almost impossible to stop if a golf cart or car were to pull out to turn. Cars have to pull way out o go compass pointe to be able to see oncoming traffic!
I live in Timber Ridge, I feel this is one of the most congested intersections and we should have a 3 way stop. People fly and it is difficult once leaving Safflower to determine the speed, then only to have the large trucks make a sharp left turn in front of you. Dangerous!
I frequently ride my bike from Timber Ridge and this intersection is the one that is the most dangerous during my ride.
Westlake. This intersection is already extremely dangerous to both pedestrians and vehicle drivers. It will continue to get worse as more homes are completed in Timber Ridge and North Ridge. A 3-way stop intersection with ADA approved pedestrian ramps and crosswalks are desperately needed needed.
I strongly urge the board to consider our safety and make a three-way stop and an ADA compliance sidewalk. Too many cars and trucks travel this area at speeds above the designated speed limit. The stop signs will slow down the speed and allow us to safely walk across and Compass Pointe south. Thank you for considering this request.

I support the need for a 3-way stop at this intersection. I walk my dog across this intersection and take our lives in hand every time.
