Seaway Parade Traffic Issues with Ysgol Bae Baglan

Since the day Ysgol Bae Baglan opened there have been problems. The front of school parking is totally inadequate to cope with the volume of traffic at 'drop off' & 'pick up' times, despite the council stating they put more than enough places there. There is a big area at the rear of the school that parents can use. But there is no signage at the main entrance to indicate this. There should be 'caution school' signs there to say the least. Lack of parking is causing problems for residents in locality. The council need to look at erecting correct signage to ensure child safety is paramount. This should be done now BEFORE there is an accident. Please sign the petition to get the council to rectify problem before the new Welsh Medium School is in place as this is only going to magnify the existing problems.

The increase in support demonstrates a clear consensus that the current traffic management is insufficient. I am now compiling these concerns into a formal request for a meeting with local council traffic planners to discuss specific signage installations.

Council would not listen to us when we told them this would happen and to rearrange their parking locations (heads in sand). No parking wardens since week 1 of school opening. Will not bring them there because believe council will have more irate people complaining of parking problems. It is a choke point with an accident waiting to happen. God help us when the additional Welsh School opens.

This is not the only problem with the school but it is one of the most important due to child safety.

This has become a very dangerous area since the school has opened. It seems ridiculous to have only one pick up are with all the land that is wasted around the school. Another planning disaster.

I don't have children at the school but I believe all children have the right to a safe environment.

There should be parking signs clearly clearly marked for all parents to see
