Local Elementry school students need SAFER Bus stops in the Timuquana area.

Two bad locations are listed with examples.

1. Timican Elementry school

pick up - the school is not open to the kids until 8am & there is no adults or Crossing guards in that area before then & some pick ups are there as early as 7:20 am

drop off - This school gets out at 4:00pm & that is the same time as some of the bus stops. So there will be added congestion of the traffic with this going on at the same time.

2. Corner of Catoma & Timuquana

This is a very busy intersection with 2 Gas stations, a Bar, JTA bus stop and a storage unit place. There is always car accidents, people hit by cars, drug dealing, prostitution & etc. in this area. They can't guarantee that a crossing guard can be at this location at all pick up & drop offs.

Better solutions would be

1. In front of main entrance of neighborhoods & apartments.

2. OFF Timuquana / near Seaboard

This strip mall has 2 safe businesses already open during these pick up & drop offs.

This is set back way off the main road & traffic. With a covered sidewalk, Wheel chair ramps, well light , security cameras, bathrooms, chairs to sit under roof to stay out of rain, heat & AC inside to protect for harsh weather. The bus can get in and out very easily through the 4 driveways without stoping traffic.
