For the safety of the children who live at Wood Bridge, we are petitioning to change the location of the Wood Bridge bus stop from the corner of Park Bridge Parkway and Summerwood Lane to in front of the Wood Bridge leasing office. For this change to take place, busses would merely have to enter the community, pick up the students in front of the leasing office, continue around the island with the fountain, and exit the community. Space for the turnaround is absolutely not an issue as the high school bus follows this route almost daily. Both management and multiple concerned parents have requested the change and have been constantly turned down. The location of the current bus stop has been the site of multiple car accidents due to the steep hill as residents exit the community. In addition, both the entrance and exit of the community are obstructed daily as parents park to let their children out of the car. Management continually monitors this, sends notices, and fines residents, but it continues to be an issue. This unfortunately also causes "road rage" which is also very dangerous. Management has received complaints of road rage being the cause of children almost being run over as the driver is upset and not paying attention. Do we have to wait until a child is actually hurt to make this change? We sincerely appreciate your consideration.
