The council finally agreed to the new parking and drop off plans for our school. It took a long time to get here and I am exhausted but very relieved that our children will be safe. I will be keeping a close eye on the construction to make sure they …

Please support our community's campaign for SAFE PARKING AND DROP OFF FACILITIES @ Lucan Educate Together National School. We urgently need SDCC to ensure the safety of all our children as they make their way to and from school. Your voice counts - thank you!!

Reaching this level of support feels heavy because it confirms how many of us worry about our children every morning. I am exhausted by the ongoing struggle to get officials to act but seeing this backing keeps me moving forward.

It would be great if some of the land adjacent to the school could be developed for a drop off zone for LETNS. At the moment we, the residents of Bewley estate, are still faced with people parking in front of our houses from a very early morning, infringing on our privacy and space.

The safety of a proper drop off zone adjacent the LETNS is invaluable. SDCC need to consider if they agree with this or whether they are more motivated by a monetary value linked to a development site ? Time to make amendments for previous planning shortcomings.

Resident at Mount Bellew Crescent affected by large volume of traffic, chaotic parking at times and concerned by well being of pedestrians, both kids and adults alike.

Chaotic, in the mornings particularly. I have seen irate residents angrily driving riskily where children are crossing ie safety of children an issue. Unpleasant exchanges between adults around children... Something needs to change

Parking has always been an issue around the school but has worsened since the council closed pedestrian access to the estate beside the school, forcing more traffic into one area, and provided no relief measures. Will be even worse when apartments being built (approved by the Council!) have residents in them. School is being blamed unfairly for a situation created by the Council.

Parking is out of control at the school stopping to let children out on a pedestrian crossing . Parking both sides of rd . Not looking when children crossing rd , driving to fast .

It is with great disappointment that I let you all know we have been unsuccessful in our attempts to be heard as a community. Motion 88 - allowing for rezoning of land adjacent to LETNS for community purposes has been defeated - and SDCC plan to construct 25 residential units on the site. Additionally, we have been advised that there is no funding available for traffic calming measures outside the school. I would like to thank all who have shared their views and their support through this process - and I urge residents in particular to continue proactively lobbying their Councillors ... as a school, we have no jurisdiction outside the school gate, and therefore, as residents, your voices are stronger than ours ... it is our fervent hope that the problem can still find it's solution .... thank you ... :)
