We, the undersigned, believe that physical activity and a safe outdoor space is critical for the healing of the children effected by domestic violence and sexual assault living at the Safe Berks facility. We believe our community will benefit from the renewal of this space and the positive impact it will have on community children who are overcoming the trauma they experienced. We request that the Gilmore/Henne community Fund favorably consider the Safe Berks Application for Playground Renewal.

Seeing the steady growth of this movement has been a quiet reminder of how much our neighbors value a safe place for children to heal. This momentum reflects a shared commitment to the wellbeing of the families at Safe Berks. We are now ready to bring these intentions forward to the community fund.

This is very much needed here. Children suffering effects from domestic violence need safe, outdoor spaces to heal!
Research shows that play is one of the most beneficial and natural ways children can process traumatic experiences and play is a critical component of child development. Having an inviting and safe place that promotes play is one of the best things we can do for children.
The playground at SafeBerks is a safe haven for children who are survivors or are children of survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The shelter and all services are open to all residents of berks County.
I'm humbly proud to serve on Safe Berks' Board of Directors and I strongly support this potential contribution to our children's quality of life.
Extremely worthwhile effort to revitalize this playground for an organization (SafeBerks) that is helping to rebuild the lives of children and parent/guardian.
Safe playgrounds are essential!
