I wasn’t specifically going to go out of my way to sign, then I thought about it. One of the best dates I ever had with my partner was here. I’m sure many of us have a story like that and it would be nice to have this lake in the future. So worth the sign.
It’s time for Adelaide City Council to not only preserve a piece of the Adelaide Park Lands History, but to activate an amazing communal space.. If you want people to use our parklands, they need a reason to visit and I believe the Rymill Park Lake has huge significance within the parklands
Such a beautiful spot that with good planning doesn’t need to be touched. Adelaide boasts one of the prettiest city centres. Let’s not make it like the others by filling these beautiful landmarks with more concrete.
Rymill Park is and has been part of Adelaide for generations. It is NOT the councils decision to stop the lake but the ratepayers. Another example of local government not listening to their ratepayers but doing what they please. Get back to libraries, rubbish collecting and taking care of parks, not closing them down due to no maintenance. By the way, if they aren’t taking care of the lake does it mean that the kiosk has it’s rates dropped by 95% as it relies on the lake for business?
The entire area is despoiled, shrunken, noisy and ugly. Didactic, disrespectful signs are directed at pedestrians. Minimal support exists for the wonderful, hard-working kiosk folk. Where is the sparking water for boating and dreaming? Where are the open play spaces, the majestic old shady trees, the birds, ducklings and possums? Shame on you all!
Let’s get this park back in order so we can enjoy this gorgeous park
It has been 10 years since the city council did anything to the lake now the plastic liner has ripped off the sides of the light it looks disgusting it is just a eye saw for the park Adelaide City Council should be held responsible they are very good at wasting money where it is not needed for an example have a look at the papers in Rundle Mall second example have a look at Victoria Square slippery pavers When Wet how can we forget Frome Street bikeway we need people power to fix this problem let the city council know people power is behind this park

It's part of the ambience and history of Adelaides east end, and should be kept to honour Col. Light's vision
