We, the citizens of the City of Lowell and representatives of the Latino community in Lowell, request that the Department of Parks and Recreation consider not making a decision regarding the name change of the Roberto Clemente Park until a proposal is made that is favorable to both communities.

We do not support this legacy elimination, despite the wave of recent campaigns to remove the Roberto Clemente park name on Middlesex Street. Roberto Clemente was not just a baseball player, Roberto Clemente was an American pioneer.

By signing this petition, you support that the name of the Roberto Clemente Park will not be changed until we reach a fair agreement as a community.
