We are community members who care for people, care for the community, and care for our beloved Franklin Park. We are asking the State IMMEDIATELY halt the Boston Medical Center's proposal for a campus to treat/house 851+ individuals, of which the majority struggle with opioid use disorder and severe mental health challenges. We demand that a NEW Community Advisory Board (CAB) is formed, composed of abutters and users of Franklin Park. This includes people from Roxbury, Mattapan, Dorchester, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, and the four abutting schools. The original CAB was composed primarily of service advocates and those that did not live near the park. The process was not transparent. It excluded many citizens who had other ideas for the Shattuck property.

  • We demand that our elected leaders open a transparent dialogue with individuals from OUR communities to discuss the potential use of this land.
  • We demand our elected leaders find locations across the state for cottages to decentralize and immediately solve the urgent need for housing for those with substance use disorder.

We believe this plan is too large and dense to be effective. No voice should be ignored this time!

So tired of the city dumping everything into our area and acting like we dont exist. Stop the proposal.

TOTAL LACK OF TRANSPARENCY. Why are they pushing this through without asking the people who actually use the park?

Decentralize it. Put these facilities where they can actually help people instead of packing them all into one spot in the middle of our community.

This is our neighborhood and we deserve a say in what happens to the park. The current plan is way too big and ignores the families who actually live here.

Keep our park safe. 851 people is way too many for that spot and the city isnt listening to anyone in JP and Dorchester.
