Earlier this year we lost four wonderful teachers from Aspen Academy since late August. Two of the teachers had been at Aspen since it's beginning and were a integral part of getting the school up and going. All helped to create a sense of community at the school, were committed to the school and it's vision and, most importantly, to the children they served.

We are concerned that if such committed and respected teachers would choose to leave that not enough is being done to retain our teachers.  Is the Board and Administration doing all they can to make sure that the staff are feeling respected and valued?  Are they still willing to "work hard at making Aspen, a place where teachers want to work..." as it says on the website?  In light of recent events these are questions deserving of an answer.

We are asking Aspen Families to sign below to show support for: 

1. The highly valued staff at Aspen,

2. Asking the Board and Administration for more transparency in their efforts to support and encourage the staff at Aspen, and 

3.  Requesting better communication in all areas of school matters in general and specifically when there are staff changes regardless of whether our students are directly affected.  This is in direct response to absence of any communication (i.e. school-wide notice) regarding the most recent resignation.
