We, the undersigned, who are current parents of Mater Christi students were dismayed to hear that teachers of our school were given notices of termination during Teachers Appreciation Week. While we understand that our school faces financial challenges that may necessitate reductions in staff, we believe that it was insensitive and inconsistent with the core values of our school to notify teachers of their termination during this week. We, the parents of Mater Christi, appreciate our teachers and respect the commitment, dedication, and love that they have given to our children. We value them and believe that they should be treated with dignity and compassion. We respectfully request that the Board of Trustees and Administration hold an informational meeting next week for all parents to discuss the restructuring of our school and to answer any questions that parents may have.
