The Highland Heartbeat Centre was opened by HRH The Princess Royal in 2005.The bulk of the £1.1 million (approx) needed to fund this was raised by public and local businesses donations.The British Heart Foundation also made a substantial contribution.Our heartfelt thanks to them.The centre was purpose built as The Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and includes office space,2 consulting rooms for physiotherapy,a seminar room,a waiting / recreation area and an adjoining gymnasium. The building was structurally strengthened to allow further building above the unit which is now the case. NHS Highland want to use this area for other than Cardiac Rehab which would be moved elsewhere, WITHOUT on site gymnasium facilities.Once again this unit was designed and built with the specific purpose of housing Cardiac Rehabilitation.
