The Pharmaceutical Society has confirmed the title is now officially protected. Professional standards are finally being respected as they should be. Thank you for your support.
As a retired non- practicing pharmacist, unless your name is on the General Pharmaceutical Council Register, you will not be able to call yourself a pharmacist. This, after years of study, followed by decades of devotion to the profession whether in industrial, research or retail.
Nobody entering this field would imagine that it is a get rich quick option; however all of us thought of it as an honourable calling which would earn us respect throughout the years of work and beyond. Sign this petition urging the Pharmaceutical Society to accord us due respect for our past efforts, and a ststus worthy of that repect. The deadline for this petition is 18 March. It will then be forwarded to The Pharmaceutical Society.
The momentum is undeniable now. It proves the profession refuses to be forgotten.

Agreed. You dont spend years in school and training just to have anyone call themselves that. Proper regulation is long overdue.

Keep the standard high. If you arent on the register you dont get to use the name simple as that.

My husband spent his whole life in this field and he deserves that recognition. Respect the profession.
