Help us preserve this historic hamlet and ReStoreRockvale.

This historic village, circa 1877, formed when a toll road (Rockvale Road) was created to junction at Versailles Road, connecting Murfreesbor, Tennessee to Eagleville, Tennessee. Eagleville petitioned to become part of Rutherford County because of this road.

The Rockvale Store, built in 1884, is believed to be the oldest country store building in Rutherford County remaining, and has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, since 1995. The store, having survived 133 years, is considered signifigant for multiple time periods: 1875-1899 Reconstruction; 1900-1924 World War I; 1925-1949 World War II.

Please join our efforts to ReStore Rockvale and sign our online petition to ensure Old Rockvale is not destroyed!

The view driving for a mile or so down Versailles Road WILL NOT be the Old Rockvale Store anymore, but as proposed, it would be replaced with a 24 ft industrial gate looking into a "trash collection" site.

There is only one Historic Site for the Rockvale Store.

There are several available options for a "trash collection" site.

Fond memories of this store as a child growing up with Helen running the place. It needs to be saved and it's history preserved, too many building from the past in this county are being destroyed. Without a history you don't have a future.

Whomever thought this was a good idea was not from Rockvale Tennessee. Fairly sure of that. Plenty of land beside the old Rockvale Store. Push off and develop. If the county can find land behind the store to move it, then there is plenty of land to build beside or around it. Thank you for reading. D.J. Rogers.

Please keep the store on the National Historic Registry by not moving it. As a citizen of Rockvale who uses the current convenience center multiple times per week, I am not at all frustrated or discouraged by the traffic flow there. I never wait more than a minute or two to dispose of my trash.

The store has been in this exact spot for over 75 years with traffic flowing from Eagleville to Murfreesboro without problems. Remove the store and the speed will increase significantly. It makes no sense.

I remember when this was Windrow Grocery and my grandaddy would take my brother and me there to pick out candy. Needs to be preserved. Too many places like this are gone forever. It's part of our small town southern legacy.
