The store and the place it sets is one in the same that makes it so special you can't say or thinking of Rockvale without the store and land it's on being the first thing thought of it's the heart of Rockvale
My name is Tabatha Murphy, My maiden name is Tabatha Carlton. I am the first grand daughter of Mrs.an Mr. Edward Elam Carlton Sr. and my father is Edward Elam Carlton Jr. I still to this day tell stories to my children and other people about the store and the community,I even drive almost 65 miles just to show the store to my family and friends and anyone who wants a great history lesson to me its not just a store it's part of me a place of peace and reminded of a simpler time where everyone was treated like family and place where there was always someone there telling a story of their life and of the history of Rutherford county and of Rockvale .I learned more about history from listening to their stories than I did from books. To drive by and not see the store there would be like driving to your passed on loved ones grave and seeing it was gone. It's not just the store its also the store's resting place the land it sets on myself and so many others have played outside and our hearts and memories are still connected with that spot of land and the store it's the one place and thing that we all can still come to for peace and equality in this world. By restoring the store and the land it sets upon we can restore not just history but a better way of life for generations to come. The Golden Rule was alive there in the store and in the people .

My dad came in this store when he was s boy and has many wonderful memories of it....he is 87.......it is one of a kind . It has to be saved for future generations

I grew up in Rockvale, just up the road from that store. I have many great memories of going to that store. I truly hope it can be saved in the current location!!

Fond memories growing up and always stopping in for Coles and 1 cent cookies out of the jar. Bobby Underwood is here with me and ask if I would ad his name to keep the old store .
