The residents of Leeton Shire demand Member for Murrumbidgee, Adrian Piccoli restore the operational status of the Leeton Police Station to a Full-time 24 hour, 7 day-a-week operational station and increase the number of staff allocated to the station.

The town has experienced increased breakins, drugs, and anti social behavior over the last 7 years and we have seen a substantial increase in criminal and anti social behaviour in the last few months.

Response times (45 minute to 2 hours) from Police attending from Griffith Station has resulted in our community not feeling safe and the perception that police are reluctant to act

Residents are fed up with what they see as a surge in crime. The solution, is to restore the operational status of the Leeton Police Station to a Full-time 24 hour, 7 day-a-week operational station and increase the number of staff allocated to the station.

The local reports of crime keep flooding in. I am personally documenting every single incident to present to the office of the member for Murrumbidgee.

We moved here 1 year ago thinking it was a safe place to bring up our granddaughter but we had someone trying to break into our car and our neighbor had his car broken into at Christmas time so a police that can be here a lot quicker and closer will make people feel a lot more safe.

We lost our policeman at Whitton so it takes longer for police to respond to anything out here.Leeton police would be able to respond quicker after hours than Griffith police, 10 minutes can make a world of difference in emergency situations

Leeton residents have the right to feel safe day & night. As well as the right to bring information on illegal activity to the police & not have to be buzzed through to another nearby town that is policed 24/7.

As an ED nurse, I see the increase in Mental Health and drug related offences. The big increase in home invasions and break ins, now makes me feel u safe in my home. To the point I am considering leaving Leeton, and leaving a vital professional role at the hospital

We can't blame the police for the break ins... They do their very best with their hands tied... This is the first step towards making our town safer and allowing police to actually be able to do their job...

We need to feel safe and know that if we call for help that someone will come!! There are do many elderly people living alone that they are becoming targets . Anger in the community will end up with a vigilante attitude and that's a worry as well.

I am new to Leeton but the amount of thefts and break and enters since we moved here has tripled. Thank god so far we have not needed the police but we hope that if we do we can have police at our door in a fast amount of time not days later. So please re-instate the night police.
