We, the undersigned, call on the Council to press the Mayor of London for increased police support in West Putney. We are aware of the re-allocation of resources away from areas such as ours and the reordering of the chains of command that mean ‘our’ hardworking police are tasked with covering an ever larger geographical area, and are able to concentrate their efforts on only the most serious of crimes. This is not lost on those intent on carrying out non-violent but intrusive criminal acts such as car theft and burglary who now have an unnatural confidence in their ability to avoid detection, and whose acts are having a deleterious effect on the quality of life in our local area. We ask that the Council make the Mayor aware of our legitimate concerns and request that he do all in his power to properly resource a local police force dedicated to this area to ensure that we, once again, feel safe and secure in our own homes.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are tired of looking over your shoulders after a simple trip to the shops. My own family feels the loss of safety in our neighborhood and that is why I am currently preparing a formal brief to bring these accounts directly to the council members.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my neighbors feel the same vulnerability I do when I walk home at night. This momentum proves that we refuse to accept the current state of our streets as permanent.

On behalf of my 2 grand sons, I am bringing them to school and back every day, and I am 71 years old and very much concerned.

As a Headmistress I am alerted to many, many muggings and attacks in the area with friends childre, adults and even my own son. So distressing for everyone. I think there is the need for more policing to come back to our streets.

Putney has historically been a safe neighbourhood. Please help reverse this worrying trend of burglaries, car thefts and muggings. As a community we are very concerned.

We were burgled on October 8th 2017 at 6.30pm. We were disappointed that the 'case'was closed in 17 hours. Our FOI research shows burglary and car crime at least as prominent in this area as 3 years ago. We did not research muggings.

Is it true that the local police say there are between 3-10 muggings a night in Putney yet police resources have been reallocated out of the area. The Council needs to address this with the Mayor of London urgently.

it's not acceptable that resources are being directed away from West Putney to others in the East of London. We are aware that the police are closing files on non violent crime within 24 hrs even when there are evidence lines that could be followed. We used to have our own Commander - now we are one of four boroughs and getting very little attention.

Concerned with speed of cars & lorries (especially heavy loaded skip lorries) speeding up & down Westleigh Avenue. Its a wide road which probably encourages the speeders however there are school at either end or the road, many local children and animals around.
