This petition is stating opposition to the proposition to build a F1 Racetrack in San Juan Bautista, California. We believe that this project will irreparably damage the culture of our small town and bring in many unnecessary complications to our local economy. We, the citizens and residents of San Juan Bautista and San Benito County, sign this petition as a protest to the proposed project and ask our representatives to respect our input and vote aganist it.

Our small town does not have the infrastructure to suppport the residents we already have, adding up to 250,000 people, even just seasonally or for specific events, is not at all feasible for our small town. Our lack of police department, lack of drinkable clean water, distressed roadways, and high traffic issues, is all evidence to support our inability to support the influx of people this project would bring.

Our natural habitats are also of extreme concern. Our farmlands and open fields which border city limits, are a protection from corporate development for our small town. If we as a city allow these areas to be developed and paved, we lose our historic atmosphere which is the core of our local economy and culture. We are formally requesting an extensive Enviornmental Impact Report, BEFORE any permits are considered.

The local roads cannot hold the traffic this project promises. I am tracking every update from the planning commission and will share their next move here.

My family and I definitely do not agree to this development, we moved to SJB to get away from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas. SJB is the perfect place to raise a family in a small town setting, the race track will completely destroy that culture.

I agree with the objections listed in this petition. If this property is to be developed, I would favor a community college or vocational training center in combination with a park with recreation trails.

Where would they get water for the facilities? How could they keep the noise from reaching the residents? And what about the light pollution at night? The town would be ruined by this proposal!

This is so rediculous! This ranch has an 1100 foot well that puts out 2 gallons a minute. Quiet, historic, pastoral San Juan Bautista is not the place for this mess!

I DID NOT MOVE HERE 35 years ago from Los Angeles to be over run by development. The people who live here and love San Juan Bautista love it for a reason. We are unique, we are small, we are not strip malls and housing developments and chain businesses. And we most CERTAINLY aren't race tracks and the resultant noise traffic. Absolutely NO!!!

I, a racing fan, can't imagine a stupider idea. Aside from the loss of one of the most beautiful pastoral settings in the state, this community's infrastructure couldn't even begin to support it. Heck, it can't even support the tiny population of current residents who live here (and visitors who come here) because of the tranquility and history. NO, NO, NO!!!

Silicon Valley is fast expanding , Santa Clara county is saturated whether these Guys succeed in bring a race track in San Benito county or not it is expected soon with Silicon Valley needing expansion ans as much as Morgan hill area such as Gilroy and hollister will quickly see new developments. The Bay Area population is growing San Juan Bautista and San Benito county will be sooner or later part of Silicon Valley growing needs. There are opportunities to consider whe such venue is being developed ... businesses do benefits , job creations ..like in Austin TX this could be an opportunity for the people of San Juan Bautista to have the economy improve , taxes ...reading the article in FORBES it appears that these developers plan to provide clean water to the people of San Benito county including San Juan Bautista . Nothing stops San Juan Bautista to request that the developers preserve the historical atmosphere and others ...environmental studies are always requested and done for such develop, met and we live in democracy we should make our requests and concerns known to the developers and see what they will do.
