This petition calls on the County of Santa Barbara to implement IV residential parking permits during the Deltopia weekend. During the Deltopia weekend, many travel in order to partake in the festivities. While this is okay, it means an influx of cars into Isla Vista creating bad traffic, impossible parking and even dangerous scenarios of people desperately parking and covering fire hydrants. I believe that during the weekend of Deltopia, residents of Isla Vista and those who work at a business located in Isla Vista should apply for a parking permit that allows them to park on the streets.

Goleta City already has a permit program in place for residents of Goleta outside of Isla Vista. We ask the County of Santa Barbara and Isla Vista Community Services to extend this permit to residents of Isla Vista, as well as people who work in Isla Vista during Deltopia.
