This petition asks that David Davis, the Chair of the Santa Barbara Metropolitan District (MTD), or the local bus service running from Carpinteria to North Goleta, increases the number of Line 28 buses frequenting Isla Vista. UCSB students can ride Line 28 for free using their ACCESS Card. Therefore, many students rely on Line 28 as their primary mode of transportation. Unfortunately, Line 28 is unreliable due to a limited number of buses and drivers. As a result, MTD buses are often late or don't show up entirely. This is incredibly inconvenient for students that live too far from campus to walk, like the Sierra Madre Villages, or don't have the resources or physical ability to bike. Buses are also more environmentally friendly than driving, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Sign this petition to ensure that all students have access to Line 28 buses and can properly rely on them for transportation to and from campus.
