We believe it is important for Wildcat Glades Nature Center to remain in Joplin, Missouri following the disengagement of The National Audubon Society from the partnership with the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and the City of Joplin. We recognize the importance of the services and educational programs that are provided by the Center and hope for it to continue to be one of the star attractions of our community.

I have been spending my mornings at the center watching families walk the trails just like I did with my own children. The silence from the decision makers is frustrating but I am currently organizing a meeting with city officials to demand a clear plan for the future of this space.

I grew up exploring these trails and watching them disappear would break my heart. We are almost at one hundred signatures so please send this link to your neighbors right now to get us over the hump.

I’ve been involved with the center since it opening as a volunteer and enjoyed the facility and trails personally. It would be a shame that it were to be abandoned. It’s a great learning tool for children and adults alike.

My grandkids come from Kansas City and always ask to be taken to the nature center and to walk the trails with us. I am out there walking at least twice a week - I would be devastated if it weren't kept open and available for the surrounding community to use and enjoy.

With almost half of the remaining chert glades to be found globally located in one location it would be short sighted and a great loss to the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and the City of Joplin if the services and educational programs found at the Wildcat Glades Nature Center were to be brought to a halt.

We absolutely love the nature center at Wilcat Glades and the park as well! I take my kids there at least once a week. They have learned a lot about native animals, birds and plants, recycling, green building and our local environment. We would be heartbroken if we didn’t have this amazing place to visit!

This center is my toddler's favorite place to visit here in Joplin! He delights in watching the birds, viewing local wildlife, petting their pet rabbit and enjoys the new playground. It was be a community tragedy if the Audobon Center were to close.
