There is a value associated with educational programs such as those provided at the center that defies being quantified. The enrichment it provides to the community is beyond measure.

Wildcat has been a place where my son, Ian, has grown up appreciating nature and learning how to protect it. We visit the trails weekly and he is always eager to attend the educational programs held at the center. It is a big part of his life as well as mine.

I’ve been involved with the center since it opening as a volunteer and enjoyed the facility and trails personally. It would be a shame that it were to be abandoned. It’s a great learning tool for children and adults alike.

I love walking the trails, doing the Christmas bird count, taking classes offered, learning about nature & how to protect our animals & environment, & especially volunteering & meeting interesting people from all over the world who come to visit. Please City of Joplin, please help us save the Glades so we can continue to share this special part of Joplin with the world!

My grandkids come from Kansas City and always ask to be taken to the nature center and to walk the trails with us. I am out there walking at least twice a week - I would be devastated if it weren't kept open and available for the surrounding community to use and enjoy.

My two little ones Love the Audubon Center and children's play area. They would be heartbroken if something happened and they could no longer go.

With almost half of the remaining chert glades to be found globally located in one location it would be short sighted and a great loss to the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and the City of Joplin if the services and educational programs found at the Wildcat Glades Nature Center were to be brought to a halt.

I have been going to Wildcat Glades for years. I take my family and friends there. We have our reunions there. This place is integral to so many people. Please keep it open so younger people can appreciate its beauty.
Let's keep this treasure for Joplin!
