We, the undersigned students, parents, and educators, respectfully call for the cancellation of the May 2026 MYP eAssessment in Gulf countries.
Over the past academic year, students across the region have faced significant challenges that have disrupted their learning and preparation. These include inconsistent teaching conditions, varying levels of academic support, and external pressures that have made it difficult to ensure equal readiness for a standardized international assessment.
The MYP eAssessment is intended to fairly measure student understanding and skills. However, under the current circumstances, it risks disadvantaging many students who have not had equal opportunities to prepare. This undermines the core IB values of fairness, equity, and holistic education.
We believe that continuing with the examination in May 2026 would place unnecessary stress on students and may not accurately reflect their true abilities or potential.
Therefore, we respectfully request that the International Baccalaureate Organization consider canceling the MYP eAssessment in Gulf countries for May 2026, and instead explore alternative methods of assessment that are more flexible and equitable for all students.
By signing this petition, we aim to ensure that all students are treated fairly and given the best possible chance to succeed.

theres genuinely no way they can put our exams on still, we havent learnt anything in the past month and physically if u put us in the exams when theres literal missiles or UAVS flying over us isnt that the chance of students getting injured if debree falls onto the school? holy logic!!
The e-assesements should be cancelled. It is unfair how DP and CP students that are 18 won't sit in the exam hall, while 15 and 16 year olds will have to sit in the exam hall despite all the stress faced in late feb untill now.
I have been forced to travel out of my home out of the country, where I have barely been able to prepare and revise. I have been very unsettled, and conducting the tests during this time will lead to really bad results that were out of my control.
Students are facing immense pressure and strain due to having to study under regional conflict. Also, all exam boards have been cancelled including DP and CP so it would only be fair to cancel MYP e-assesments.
In my personal opinion the MYP e assessment should be canceled as due to the current situation we are unable to have in person learning and the online learning isn’t really affected therefore we haven’t had around 40 days of education meaning we students are not prepared
The circumstances are not conducive to optimal performance and may hinder the student from attaining their full potential.
Having the e-assessments now is completely unrealistic, we haven’t been in school since Feb 28th. It’s been over a month of distance learning. We are severely underprepared and at a disadvantage. Not to mention the toll this situation has taken on students and their mental healths. If the MYP board truly cared for student wellbeing, they would offer a less stressful alternative.

us year 11s have been in distance learning since early March. Jumping straight into high-stakes eAssessments just two weeks after returning is seen as unfair, especially since we didnt have consistent in-person support.
