The city finally caved and committed to replacing the equipment at Quail Ridge Park. You pushed them until they had no choice but to stop ignoring our families. Stay sharp because we need to hold them to this promise until the new structures are actually built.

Quail Ridge Park, on North Liberty's west side, was built in 1991. Last year, the aging playground equipment had reached a point of disrepair, and some parts, such as the slide, were removed before they became a safety concern. They have yet to be replaced due to budget constraints. In a town full of young families, the decommissioning of any play equipment at a neighborhood part is a loss to the community. We hope to see the original structure replaced by next summer.

The North Liberty city council continues to ignore the rot at Quail Ridge Park while our kids are left with nothing but rusted frames and broken promises. I am tired of hearing about budget constraints when they prioritize everything except our community spaces. Watch this space because I am bringing this entire pile of signatures to the next public hearing.

My kids have been complaining all summer that the slide is just a pile of dirt now. It is pathetic that this is the best our neighborhood park has to offer.

Used to take my son here all the time. Now it just looks like a ghost town. Such a waste of a good space.

Fix the park asap. We pay taxes for a reason.

The city wastes money on so much junk but can't fix a swing set for the actual kids living here. Fix it already.

It was so unsafe before they took it down. My toddler got a splinter on that old slide. We need something new and clean for the little ones.
