Things have changed so much in 15 years
More people have come to Canada to live, housing has tripled in value
Rent has also tripled in cost.
House, home shortages are right across Canada
People can't find homes they want to live in or the area they want to live in.
Most can't afford to pay rent plus food, utilities car payments insurances etc
The same house rented out 15 yrs ago for 650.00 a month is now 2000.00 a month
It needs to stop, no one can afford to pay these prices and have a decent quality of life nor are they able to save for their own home.
The government needs to put a cap on rental prices right across Ontario
The government also must stop letting people from foreign countries like Japan purchase our homes...they dont live in Canada stop selling Canadian homes to foreigners. Canadians should be the ones buying these homes. Fix the housing issues
We don't have enough homes for people to live in at a decent affordable price.
Home owners have gotten away with asking what ever they want this needs to stop!!!
Cap the rental market across Ontario!! Since it's mostly lower income that rent homes cap it to suit the min wage you expect Canadians to live on,or for the Seniors, ODSP, OW MONTHLY INCOME they're suppose to survive on.
How can you over look this? And let this go on, when we have Canadians homeless and no places they can afford to rent, or have the housing available for them to rent
You bring in more and more people but yet we dont have the housing to support the Canadians living here now!

My husband and I have a small child. Our incomes haven't changed much but a the rate that rent is increasing, the only prices for rent in Ontario would have us pay close to 50%+ of our income on rent alone. Its absolutely outrageous!

Im angry that rent has gone so hight that I cant even live in my own home. Thank heavens for my friends or I'd be living in the the streets. Im a 61 year old living on a pension.

We are renting a house with 3 bedrooms and 7 residents, son, son-in-law daughter, 2grandsons, hubby and me. the extras have been looking for over a year for a place of there owe. Either rent too high or landlord wants your life history. Sometimes people have had to decide about having a roof over their heads or food on the table. No one should have to exist like that.

Rental prices these days are extortionate. People on fixed income can't afford this and we shouldn't have to rely on affordable housing programs that are already overrun for people to afford a roof over their freaking head.

The rental prices here in Ontario (& Canada wide) are unaffordable! Even for a two income hard working both Full time ppl can barely find anywhere to rent! The “living wage is a joke & The Real estate market Here in Ontario is ridiculous.. you have part of the population that seems to be able to just throw money @ buying a home often offering $30,000+ above asking price this needs to be put to a stop. It’s making it even harder to be able to live & thrive here In Canada
